At Glasrijk Tubbergen, a yearly glass-festival in Tubbergen this year 20 participants will show two objects as part of being in the pre-selection of the prestigious ‘Bernardine de Neeve-prize’.
It was held in Tubbergen, NL from 3 – 6 October 2024
Very happy to be present as well, and be able to show two of my objects. It is great to be able to show off, my way of working with glass: 3D-glassfusion, were glass is threedimensionally melted together, instead of glued together. The result is more durable then, when one would use kit or glue.
Two of my objects will be shown:
‘You are my On Point’ (the Blues)‘
You perhaps recognize that thing or that point in time where everything is seemingly going the right way. Maybe a new thing. Where you say goodbye to the old and enjoy the first ideas of the new.
The old could feel like a dot (.) . Where certain things stop, which can make you feel the blues a bit.
But it could also mean a comma (,) , where the new is more of the same ‘old’ and then with new and better features…
A sharp looking Formidable in a range of blue shades. A sapphire blue rectangle with a circle cut out of it. In that a smaller Caribbean blue little circle is held by a royal blue rectangle where the same size of little circle is cut out of it. That is held by two small blue triangles.

‘You are my Wonderful Life‘
With it’s ups and downs this is a colourful and well-balanced time in life. At the back you can see the ‘red thread of life’ (‘Rode draad van het leven’ in Dutch). Not always visible, but always present.
It is part of a bigger installation ‘Life Line’ of ‘You are my Line of Life’ which consist of 10 colourful similar sized objects standing together forming an almost three metres long abstract representation of colourful life.
See a previous post about Glas Leeft, where heArthur presented this installation in the Grote Kerk half September of 2024.
